dc.description.abstract Mostly, the car comes with inbuilt safety systems which makes the car more expensive than the normal cars. However, safety is the most important element of a car from the views of customers. The safety system is the system which can ensure the safety of driver, passenger and others, and it reduce the incidence rate of accident. In Indonesia many medium budget cars coming without safety measures, ordinary people are not able to buy the expensive cars. Therefore, the author of this project brings a safety device which can be implemented with any car at affordable price rate. Since in modern world, parking without assistance is a very big problem and it is crucial necessity to avoid damage to our own car and others too. This idea of Car Parking Assistance system application is developed with Microcontroller ATmega16 and ultrasonic sensor. The microcontroller will act as brain to the system in coordinating with other components, which are connected. The coordinating program of the system is done by using CodeVisionAVR C Compiler, which we learned in our subjects. The systems works with ATmega16 instructions, the transmitter sensor will send out the pulse by holding the input pulse trigger high at every 62.5 milliseconds and it measures the time until the pulse returns. The receiver will capture the pulse and it will be connected at the input of ATmega 16. The time rate of the pulse travelling will be calculated and converted into a distance measure in cm. The LED and LCD will clearly show the distance to the driver. The warning system will give the alarm to the driver when it reaches to unsafe distance (here, we set it as 30 cm and below). This project helps the driver to park safely without damaging his own car and others. It reduces unnecessary problems eventually saves the money. This car parking assistance system is complied with modern technology and can be implemented with any type of cars and other vehicles at very lower cost. en_US
