Abstract:
PT. X is a toy manufacturing company which deals with a lot of stages of
production. One of the stages in production is in Die Cut area. Die Cut area is
focusing on cutting the fabric to become the costume of each toy produce in PT. X. The objectives in this research is increasing the Daily Schedule Adherence (DSA) percentage in Die Cut area. In current condition, the percentage of DSA is still far from 100% so that cause the problem. The job sequence set by using priority dispatching rules which is Shortest Processing Time (SPT) by the planner and it is considered not optimum yet. In current condition, the makespan is 8.786 hours with job sequence 9 – 4 – 12 – 7 – 8 – 10 – 13 – 14 – 1 – 6 – 3 – 5 – 11 – 2 – 15. PSO algorithm is done through several steps which are initialization, fitness evaluation, and velocity and position determination. Through the PSO, it found 3 optimal solution which result the same makespan value. One sequence of the job is 10 – 5 – 3 – 6 – 9 – 15 – 2 – 7 – 1 – 8 – 11 – 13 – 14 – 4 – 12. The makespan of this route is 7.571 hours which reduce up to 14% from the current condition. It conclude that PSO algorithm may solve the problem.
