<description>MANUALLY AND REMOTELY CONTROLLED POWER OUTLETS WITH PASSWORD USING ARDUINO MEGA 2560 AND GPRS SHIELD
Hidayat, The, Joses
This project is entitled ―Manually and Remotely Controlled Power Outlets with Password using Arduino Mega 2560 and GPRS Shield‖. The main objective of this project is to create a new design power outlet which can be controlled by password or by SMS. These outlets can be controlled manually by inputting the correct password via keypad and remotely by sending a text message to the outlets. The text message contains a unique password for each outlet. Thus, by using the relay, the electric current from the outlets will not flow unless the correct password is inputted or sent via SMS. The password used in this project is a 4-digit unique password for each outlet. This project uses Arduino Mega 2560 as the microcontroller. This project also includes two power outlets and LEDs, LCD, keypad, power supply, and GPRS shield. The SMS system is created by the help of GPRS shield. By using this type of outlets, parents do not need to worry their toddlers play outlets. Another function is people can control their own outlets so not anybody can use their outlets without their permission.

<title>FIVE-DEGREE OF FREEDOM ROBOTIC ARM CONTROLLER BASED ON KINECT TM SENSOR</title>
<link>http://repository.president.ac.id/xmlui/handle/123456789/1441</link>
<description>FIVE-DEGREE OF FREEDOM ROBOTIC ARM CONTROLLER BASED ON KINECT TM SENSOR
Albab, Nurul
This final project presents a controller for a Five-Degree of Freedom (5-DOF) Robotic Arm which implement KINECTTM Xbox 360 sensor. It is a human-robot interface system that uses an interactive hand pointer for selecting objects on screen via the user’s hand gesture. Built in Microsoft Visual Studio 2010, this 5-DOF robotic arm controller application identifies a user’s presence. The Kinect sensor tracks the position of user’s hand by using KINECTTM tracking algorithm default. The user is allowed to control the robotic arm with hand tracking concept while his or her position is in front of the KINECTTM sensor. Certain commands are set on the application enabling to send movement task using a serial communication port to Arduino board. The Arduino board generates signals to be sent to the servo motor of robotic arm. Then the signals are executed so that the robotic arm moves according to the given commands.

<description>ELECTRICAL SOCKET SWITCH CONTROLLED REMOTELY USING INFRARED TRANSCEIVER
Kevin, Zakharia
Nowadays, people intends to make an activity become easier, such as turning off a lamp without reaching the home electric socket. This project will create a bridge to solve the problem mentioned. The objective of this project is to design a device that can turn on or off an electrical socket via remote, and in this case the author chooses to use an IR as the medium. This project will use a 4017 as a decade counter to differ between appliance on and appliance off. Also a pair of IR LED and 38 kHz receiver as the sensors. For the remote, a NE555 timer&#13;
will be used as the frequency producer (38 KHz). Since the receiver and the transmitter (remote) are in the same frequencies then connection will be made and will trigger a relay which planted on receiver board.

<title>HOME AUTOMATION BASED ON PROCESSING OF IRIS RECOGNITION</title>
<link>http://repository.president.ac.id/xmlui/handle/123456789/1416</link>
<description>HOME AUTOMATION BASED ON PROCESSING OF IRIS RECOGNITION
Mohammad, Rayhan
We live in the era of technology, most people helped by machine to do their works, or even protect them. Because of this, the system of automation is the best choice people have. With the automation system help and protect their live such as their home, most people who not responsible are trying to manipulate or hack the system. From this phenomenon result the idea of implement biometric technology into system automation is come up. The iris recognition is the key to minimized the system hacking or impersonation because each people have different iris even for the twin. This project concentrates in designing the hardware and the software that will work as an integrated system of automatic door lock, implemented with iris recognition. Through this function, the user will be able to take their iris and then lock or open it without any physical key.
