dc.description.abstract Earthquakes are vibrations or shocks that occur on the surface of the earth due to the sudden release of energy that creates seismic waves. Earthquakes usually occur by the movement of the Earth's crust (Earth plate). By seeing the impact of the hazards that can be caused by the earthquake disaster, it is necessary to have preparedness and emergency responses facing the event of earthquake intended to minimize the number of fatalities. Response to the earthquake has been widely available and one of them is using smartphone. The uses of smartphone also make human activity become easier. Since smartphone is very supporting human needs and activities, smartphone has many features such as Maps, GPS, camera, internet, etc. The features also keep improving every year become more innovative. This thesis will discuss about the uses and the development of the Maps and GPS in order to reduce risk in the phases of disaster management especially for earthquake disaster. This thesis will be using for monitoring earthquake, sharing event of earthquake among users objectively and instruction for self-fast response. The application is based on the Android operating system and uses the GPS (Global Positioning System) and Google Maps System. en_US
