dc.description.abstract Technology has become an important thing in our lives, from the young to the old seem to be deeply involved. Technology has impacted almost all sectors of the society, technology makes our everyday life become simple and easier. Nowadays, smartphone user keep increasing, same goes to the Internet of Things(IoT). With the mobility of smartphone and IoT, some tasks can be done and can be controlled by smartphone, such as Remote for Television, Remote for Air Conditioner, and also for the locking system of a door. Sometimes, people are too lazy to walk to unlock the door, what if there is an application that can lock and unlock a door without the need of walking? In Indonesia, there are still many crime that used advantage of a common door lock(lock with a keyhole). Theft can easily broke those keyhole with their tools, but what if there is no keyhole at the door? There are also a risk of duplicated key or lost key. So this thesis will help people to secure their door. In this Thesis, The application name is MUHS Smart Lock. The application can lock and unlock a door by using Bluetooth of the smartphone, so the user can lock and unlock the door from some distance. Not just that, only the authorized Bluetooth ID that can lock and unlock the door. User can register their Bluetooth ID by connecting to the MUHS Smart Lock, and the Admin can change their data along with their access level. Each user will have an access level which contains of 3 level, first is admin, second is guest, and third is stranger. User with admin access level able to lock, unlock, open / close the door, and also able to edit other users data. User with guest access level, able to lock/unlock, ii open/close the door. And user with stranger access level can register to the database, but they can not go to the main page, user with stranger access level need to ask the admin to change their access level. The application will have a fingerprint verification, the application will check whether the user is the owner of the phone by using the fingerprint feature of the phone, so it can be more secure. The application have a feature to let user set the speed of the door opening and closing. The user just need to slide the speed bar, and click open or close. There is also a figure of the door in the application which will change when the user opening or closing the door. en_US
