Abstract:
PT. PMD is a manufacturing company that produces automotive components for
motorcycles and cars. The manufacture of components for motorcycle and car products, PT. PMD
requires parts for the manufacture of components that they will produce. To get parts that will be
used to manufacture motorcycle and car components, there are vendors who work to supply the
parts that are needed by PT. PMD. In making parts for supply activities to PT. PMD, vendors need
materials that will be used to make parts. To provide for the necessary material requirements in
making part requests from PT. PMD, the vendor will request material from PT. PMD and PT.
PMD will send the material needed by the vendor to make parts. In managing material requests
and ensuring the inventory of materials requested by vendors is ready to be sent, PT.PDM often
encounters problems for receiving material ordering information. Miscommunication often occurs
due to the current process flow, when vendors order materials in the form of memo messages to
the procurement team at PT. PMD and human error problems from the procurement team that miss
messages from vendors which cause material requests to be poorly conveyed to the PPIC
department as the person in charge of production planning and material stock at PT PMD. This is
a problem that makes it difficult for PPIC and vendors. With this management system, it is
expected to help facilitate communication for request orders in connecting vendors directly with
the PPIC department in ordering materials so that the process can run smoothly.
