WEB-BASED SCHOOL INFORMATION SYSTEM FOR SPES PATRIAE VOCATIONAL SCHOOL

Abstract

SMK Spes Patriae Jakarta is a vocational high school (SMK) located in North Jakarta, Indonesia. This school offers a vocational program, namely Accounting for Financial Institutions, and Spes Patriae Vocational School has an A accreditation. The creation of a school website is intended as a means of information and communication media for students, teachers, parents and the entire community to find out information about Spes Patriae Vocational School. . Creating this website using the RAD (Rapid Application Development) method is very useful and more flexible in the website development process. The RAD method consists of four stages: requirements planning, user design, construction, and cutover. The first stage is the needs planning stage, which is carried out by identifying user needs and creating a school website development plan. At this stage, analysis or input from teachers and students is needed to determine the required website features and content. Apart from that, in developing this website there must also be technical planning and estimates of the costs required to create it, such as website creation service costs, purchasing domains and hosting. The second is the user design stage, which has the function of creating a mockup or prototype of this school's website. This mockup was made with the aim of notifying users, viewing the website, and getting feedback from users if there are features or user content that are removed. The third is the construction stage, which has the benefit of implementing a website based on a mockup that has been approved by the user. In this stage, the development of web technology uses several programming languages such as HTML, CSS, PHP, and the MySQL database. The last is the cutover stage, which is carried out by officially launching the school website by purchasing a domain and hosting. In this stage, the final testing is carried out and a presentation is made to users before it is hosted for the public.
