Abstract:
Farmers are one of the livelihoods in Indonesia. the role of farmers is very strong for Indonesian society
but, they still experience many difficulties to sell their crops. One of them is due to the role of middlemen who
determine the purchase price of crops, making farmers unaware of market prices. Another problem is that the
long distribution system from farmers to consumers has an impact on selling prices, limited networks to access
the market make farmers tend to be in a weak position in bargaining. Therefore, the position of farmers here
must be considered. through this Capstone project created a system entitled "HavMate (Harvest Mate):
Breaking the Boundary for Farmers to the Market" which aims to connect farmers selling their crops directly
to the market to eliminate the long distribution chain. Providing a place where farmers can offer their crops,
make direct offers and negotiate with potential customers without the role of intermediaries. Features include
Ordering products by distributors, being able to bid for products from farmers with a given offer price and a
chat feature. The project also involved user testing and reviews to evaluate the effectiveness and
satisfaction/usefulness of the app. of this application. The results showed a positive response, indicating that
the app has significantly improved the process of selling farmers' crops and connected many farmers and
distributors. Through product and customer recommendations, it can be beneficial for users of this system.
