dc.description.abstract As technology continues to evolve, information certainty in the news is more important than ever, as it is the cornerstone of a well-informed and democratic society. As society becomes increasingly interconnected through digital channels, the ease and speed with which information circulates have heightened the risk of misinformation. Inaccurate or unverified news can mislead the public, shape distorted perceptions, and undermine the credibility of news outlets. Information validation processes are crucial for ensuring that news stories are accurate, reliable, and adhere to journalistic standards, thus upholding the essential role of the media in fostering an informed citizenry. This is particularly important as there were times when people took things out of context or purposefully spread false information to get attention and or for malicious purposes. This project aims to address the challenges posed by the deliberate manipulation or misinterpretation of information by developing a system capable of distinguishing between genuine and fabricated content. The proposed solution will use advanced Artificial Intelligence algorithms to analyze contextual nuances, cross-reference data sources, and employ pattern recognition to identify and flag potentially deceptive or inaccurate information. By enhancing information integrity, this project seeks to contribute to a more reliable and trustworthy information ecosystem, safeguarding against the adverse impacts of misinformation in our increasingly interconnected and AIdriven world. This capstone project aims not only to develop an effective fake news detection system, but also to contribute to the ongoing discourse on media literacy and responsible information consumption. By fostering a culture of critical thinking and providing tools to combat misinformation, the project aspires to fortify the foundations of a resilient and well-informed society in the face of evolving technological landscapes. Through the synergy of advanced AI algorithms and human vigilance, this endeavor strives to uphold the integrity of information and preserve the vitality of a democratic and interconnected world. en_US
