Abstract:
Managing daily dormitory operations in a growing academic environment
requires a reliable and integrated system to accommodate the needs of multiple
stakeholders. Manual coordination between residents, staff, and parents often results in
delays, inconsistent data, and limited visibility into student welfare. This project
introduces an integrated Dormitory Management System (DORMS) designed to
streamline essential processes and enhance communication across users.
Built using the Laravel framework, the system supports four primary user roles:
admin, resident, parent, and technician. Key features include Daily Meal Scheduling with
PIC assignments to ensure accountability, Feedback Logging to capture residents’ meal
satisfaction, a Student Behavior Monitoring module that tracks both merits and
violations, and a digital Issue Reporting system for technical complaints. The parent role
is also enhanced with real-time access to student meal plans and behavior history,
fostering stronger parent-institution engagement.
By digitizing routine activities and establishing clear information flows, the
system reduces dependency on paper-based reporting, mitigates the risk of data loss, and
improves service responsiveness. The implementation of this system demonstrates how
structured digital solutions can elevate dormitory operations by promoting transparency,
efficiency, and collaboration among all involved parties.
