EVALUATION OF INVENTORY MANAGEMENT OF DRUGS AT GRHA KEDOYA HOSPITAL (A CASE STUDY)

Abstract

This thesis contains an evaluation of inventory management in Grha Kedoya Hospital, especially inventory management of drugs. The purposes of this evaluation are to evaluate the current internal control and to identify weaknesses of the inventory management of drugs. In the process of doing the thesis, Writer conducts evaluation of internal controls through internal control questionnaires (ICQ), inquiries, direct observation, and documentation. Overall inventory management of drugs that conducts by Grha Kedoya Hospital is running good, but there are still weaknesses that contain in the inventory management. There are some weaknesses that own by Grha Kedoya Hospital, those are: stock out that still occurs in the hospital because of the seasonal diseases and the unavailable of drug needs in hospital’s suppliers. No implementation of formulary to improve the performance of inventory management of drugs. Lack of refrigerator to store vaccine and less extent of gudang farmasi make the hospital lack of storage space. Lack of pharmaceutical worker that causes one worker does too much job duties. The absence of internal auditor also becomes the weakness of the hospital. Therefore, the writer gives some recommendations for the hospital so that the hospital can improve its deficiencies and weaknesses regarding to maximize the performance of its inventory management of drugs.
