dc.description.abstract As COVID 19 pandemic cases continue to rise, so does the public’s concern for their economic, social, and health conditions. With the increasing number of people infected by the day, hospitals and government efforts began to be overwhelmed by the continuous rising numbers of cases to their capacity to handle the health crisis. Over time, the safety of the general public and health care workers are at risk from the pandemic, so, therefore, many efforts from the general public need to be done in order to hamper the increasing infected cases. Efforts done by the people to help in order to curb the numbers of infected cases ranges from using face masks, practice social distancing in public, produce locally made improvised protective gear and hand soaps and maintain personal hygiene and the environment. Despite the efforts have been done, it is not enough since some most of the public still have relatively little awareness in hygiene and social distancing which contributes most to the high infection rates. The solution provided in this thesis is to create an Arduino based ‘Automatic Hand Sanitizer Dispenser System’ (AHSDS) for people to easily clean their hands in public without the risk of touching the surface of the dispenser that could potentially be contaminated with the virus. The purpose of this hand sanitizer dispenser is to make people get used to maintaining the hygiene by conveniently allowing them to clean their hands with the dispenser since hand sanitizer liquid does not need water and the dispenser itself is practical and easy to maintain. By making the process of cleaning hands easy and convenient, this will make a habit in the public to always wash their hands in order to protect themselves and others in the risk of COVID 19 infection. en_US
