dc.description.abstract The existence of technology and robots could not be denied, moreover in these days. The technology is created with various reasons, one of the main reason is to be used in order to ease people with their daily life.. In restaurant industry, technology is used to create automation using robots. Restaurant automation is defined as a restaurant that uses machines and technology to help the system of the business, restaurant automation itself helps the restaurant to create an ambience that also increases the service quality of the restaurant that further will create a restaurant experience. The restaurant automation using technology and robots, as robots is a device that is used to resemble the action of a living being, therefore it helps the restaurant to work effectively and organized so that it could provide the best service for its customers. Using robot in restaurant could help everybody in the industry; including the disable people that some of the disabled people who are restricted to move freely and there are times that they have difficulities to find a job. Using the robot, the disabled people will be able to control the movement of the robot to do the serving process or any other process in the restaurant. They are able to move the robot freely according to the need without so much hassle, but still maintain the quality and the satisfaction of its customers This thesis describes the design and development of a waiter robot which is considered as a possible solution to restaurant automation. The robotics technology is replacing manual work at a fast pace throughout the world. In classical café, restaurants and hotels, the customers face a lot of problems due to congestion at peak hours, unavailability of waiters and due to manual order processing. These shortcomings can be handled by using a restaurant automation system where Waiter Robots are used for ordering food and beverages. This thesis will discuss the design and prototype of a waiter robot using a microcontroller called by raspberry that can be controlled by disabled people. This robot can be controlled by disabled people because the reason is to open more opportunities for disabled people to have a better life and a better job. This robot is a tool in the form of a scarecrow and so on that can move or act like a human being, and is controlled by the disabled people. en_US
