dc.description.abstract Online gaming has been acknowledged to have negative impact as worse as gaming addiction where one could not stop to play game and even neglect their responsibility. This could be a threat to a company when their employees are using their productive time at work to play online game instead. The objective of this research is an attempt to explore the impact of online gaming during working hours to the employee’s work motivation as well as to productivity at work. This study employed quantitative and qualitative research design by employing a mixed structured online questionnaires and open-ended interview as the instruments in gathering the data. Judgmental sampling method was used in this study, 133 respondents those who plays online games were selected and three respondents on managers level were participates on the interview. Based on the analysis results, online gaming activity at work showed to have impact on employees’ work motivation and productivity which divided into three main domains that are self-discipline, knowledge, personal effort on contributing to work harmony. The results concluded that playing online game during working hours have impact on employees’ working motivation and productivity. These findings can be useful for human resource management in any organization to take necessary preventive and corrective actions. en_US
