Delay delivery is a crucial problem because it is related with customer’s trust. Delay delivery itself occur because several factors, one of the factors is the cycle time less than the takt time that cause the output produced cannot meet the customer demand and make the delay delivery happen. In PT.XYZ, in order to make the products, there are several processes in production floor that should be passed such as molding, oven and after process. In current condition, after process is a process with the highest cycle time in this process is 17.5 seconds per pieces with the total output produced is 823 pieces per hour using 4 lines at after process. There are four steps in this after process which are punching, cleaning pill, resistance check and guarantee inspection and packing. In this case, the cycle time can be reduced by maintaining the operator task to be more effective and efficient. The flow process chart will clearly show that there is effective and ineffective time. Here, the line efficiency will show the balancing for every process area, where the cycle time between oven and after process is not balance and causes a long idle time. As the result, the cycle time is successfully increasing the total output from 823 pieces per hour to be 3,388 pieces per hour. |
