dc.description.abstract Heart is undeniably an important part in the human body system. The missions of heart are to pump blood to the lungs in order to expel the waste carbon dioxide that resulted from the respiration and to pump blood which will deliver oxygen throughout the human body circulation system. While blood that carries oxygen being pumped throughout the human body, heart will deliver the oxygen to all cells. Body cells need to use the oxygen to get the energy from food through a process called cellular respiration. The heart activity will produce electric activity which can be recorded and studied for further health assessment. This electrical activity can be charted as an ECG or Electrocardiogram. From the record, possible emergency situation at early stage can be identified, such as fatal heart, stroke, etc. thus making the chances to recover from those diseases bigger. Monitoring our heart beat and pulse rate can help with increasing people’s awareness about their heart’s health which will also motivate and encourage people to maintain a healthy eating plan and exercise. With the help of microcontroller device, Arduino Uno and ECG sensor, ECG data can be processed into beat per minute by using algorithm to count the period of one heart cycle (R peak). And the representation of heart rate will be done with the help of SciChart external library. The main objective of this research is to allow user to check their own heart condition and encourage them to start caring for their health especially heart. en_US
