ANALYSIS OF COMMUNITY PARTICIPATION IN THE TOURISM DEVELOPMENT STUDY CASE: KAMPONG WARNA-WARNI, JODIPAN

Abstract

Kampong warna-warni, Jodipan is a rural tourism with consist of RT. 06, RT. 07, RT. 09 and RW.02 located in kelurahan Jodipan, Kecamatan Blimbing Malang city, East Java. Before exists as a rural tourism, kampong warna-warni, Jodipan is a slum village. But after student of Muhammdiyah Malang University doing KKN in kampong Jodipan and then come to propose to paint all of the houses at that time. And then, lot of people come to kampong jodipan for taking a picture with a colorful village at that moment also community in kampong Jodipan realized that their kampong could attract many visitors to come and make kampong Jodipan as a rural tourism. The researcher also found there are problem in coconut production at 2015-2017. Coconut production is stagnant at that time and makes the revenue of people in kecamatan Blimbing did not increased. So, tourism could be other option for people in there. Although kampong warnawarni, Jodipan already involving their community to participate but there are several things are not discovered. One of the thing is the form of participation of community in kampong warnawarni, Jodipan and the other thing is the factor influenced community to participate in the tourism development kampong warna-warni, Jodipan. In this research, the researcher will try to discover the form of participation and the factor influenced community to participate. This research use qualitative method with purposive sampling and took 4 informants to interview. In the process of the research. The result of this research the participation of community kampong warna-warni, Jodipan are instrumental participation and representative participation. And the factors influenced them to participated are, willingness, awareness and responsibility.
