UNITED NATION CONVENTION ON RIGHTS OF PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES IMPLEMENTATION OF LEGAL PROTECTION FOR CHILDREN WITH DISABILITIES AT FORUM KOMUNIKASI KELUARGA ANAK DENGAN DISABILITAS (FKKADD) IN BANDUNG CITY

Abstract

This study aims to find out how the Family Activities Forum for Children with Disabilities (FKKADD) applies the principles of respect for children with disabilities and applies legal protection for children with disabilities which is implemented from the International Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (UNCRPD). This research is legal doctrinal research in which to achieve the objectives of this study the author uses an approach in the form of a legal approach and interview results. In addition, through this research, it can be concluded that the implementation carried out by FKKADD has applied the principles of respect for children with disabilities. Then FKKADD has also provided legal protection for children with disabilities both preventively and repressively where this is given to prevent or reduce the level of discrimination or harassment of children with disabilities. In addition, repressive legal protection is also provided to uphold the rights of children with disabilities so that they do not get wrong treatment from everyone. Therefore, the author recommends that Indonesia as a country that ratifies this convention pays more attention to the rights of children with disabilities and provides a special treatment that is appropriate for children with disabilities.
