APPLICATION OF WEIGHTED MOVING AVERAGE ALGORITHM TO PREDICT WEB-BASED UNIFORM SALES

Abstract

Every company that has a high production intensity certainly has a risk in managing inventory data in the warehouse. Inventory data management is one thing that needs to be considered because it will have an impact on the amount of costs that will be incurred for production purposes. If not managed properly, overproduction and underproduction can occur due to inaccurate inventory management information data. So this must be balanced with the company's ability to determine policies related to production and sales activities carried out by the company. Therefore, a weighted moving average method is needed to provide a solution that reduces the capital cost of oversized inventory, and predicts the amount of inventory that fits the needs. The forecasting method used is the Weighted Moving Average (WMA) method. Why use the WMA algorithm for this research with uniform sales? because the WMA algorithm functions to find the direction of a trend, this algorithm can and is usually used to find the trend of a sale, in this case it is used for selling uniforms. The result of a moving average that has values and weights where more weight is given to the latest data because the latest data is more relevant so that it is more responsive to changes. The author applies the Weighted Moving Average method to provide a solution in predicting the inventory of clothing items taken based on data from the previous year. So that it can help in determining the stock of goods according to the needs and desires and produce alternative choices of goods.
