The problem related to Cumulative Trauma Disorders – Low Back Pain appears in casting area before the operator put lead bar from pallet into melting pot. The manual material handling which is lead bar 30 kg should be done manually by the operator. Anthropometry analysis shows that the body dimension while doing the activity is not standard, REBA analysis results 11 REBA score which means the risk is dangerous. The Biomechanics analysis is done only for the lifting heavy lead bar activity and it is focused on the total compression force that works in L5/S1. The calculation of compression force for lifting heavy lead bar is 7,442.89 Newton. The score of RWL is categorized as bad condition. An improvement is conducted related to the material handling equipment by product selection. The product is scissor lift high truck and steel skating. The product can reduce the risk by securing the anthropometry body dimension standard, resulting 3 REBA score which means low risk level, the total compression force in lifting activity become 2,481.57 Newton and the score RWL still categorized as bad because there is no changing weight of material from the company that can impact to the quality of products. |
