ATTENDANCE SYSTEM FOR TEACHERS USING WEB BASED AND MOBILE APP IN TPQ AL IKHLAS

Abstract

Efficient, accurate, and structured teacher attendance management is an important element in supporting the performance of educational institutions, especially in community-based environments such as TPQ. However, many institutions still use manual methods that are prone to recording errors, late reporting, and minimal transparency. This final project aims to develop a mobile application and a website-based teacher attendance dashboard system that can make it easier for teachers to take attendance and for admins to monitor and manage attendance data in real-time. The case study was conducted at TPQ Al Ikhlas, and the system development was carried out using the Waterfall method, which includes the stages of needs analysis, system design, implementation, testing, and maintenance. The main objective of this system is to provide a digital attendance solution that is easily accessible, affordable, and capable of producing daily, weekly, and monthly attendance reports automatically. This system will allow digital attendance recording, with the integration of technology such as GPS to validate teacher locations when taking attendance and Google Maps API is used for the location verification feature. The main features of the dashboard include teacher and admin data management, attendance data, reporting, and location validation settings. The implementation results show significant improvements in administrative efficiency, data accuracy, and transparency of the attendance process. With the simplicity of the display and ease of use, this system is considered feasible to be implemented in similar educational institutions that have limited resources.
