JAKARTA BANKERS PERSPECTIVES TOWARD MUDHARABAH DEPOSIT IN INDONESIAN ISLAMIC BANKING

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to find the bankers perspectives toward Mudharabah deposit. The problem comes from Indonesia as the Muslim majority country, which it means that Islamic bank in Indonesia supposed to be famous and familiar by people in all level. In this research the researcher interview the bankers, this is interesting because bankers is the person who know well about banking industry. This research emphasis of 3 objectives, which are to find out what factor that influence Muslim bankers to choose Mudharabah deposit, to find out the bankers knowledge of Mudharabah deposit, and to find out the differences of Mudharabah deposit and deposit in other bank. This research is qualitative research method with exploratory research design. The finding of this research is the Muslim bankers choose Mudharabah deposit due to the religion factor although the non-Muslim bankers not choose Mudharabah deposit due to religion but because they are lack of information regarding Islamic baking. Then, bankers are know the basic information of Mudharabah deposit likes; the advantages of Mudharabah deposit, the charge of Mudharabah deposit, and the basic knowledge of Islamic banking. Last finding, bankers know well what the differences of Mudharabah deposit with deposit in other bank.
