Waste generation has been increasing in recent years. One of the main contributor is the lack of awareness, which is influenced by behavior, knowledge and income. One way to minimize waste generation is by composting. There are a lot of methods of composting, Takakura Basket is a considerably new method of composting which uses biological starter like fertilizers. The main waste generated in Indonesia is organic waste. The objective of this research is to find the most preferred mixture of waste and cow manure fertilizer among the 4 treatments that produces the better compost quality. This research also wants to find out whether behavior, knowledge and income have influence to the awareness of housewives who manage their household waste that live in residential area partially and fully. Composting process was done in 4 treatments for 28 days. 5 physical and 5 chemical parameters were then measured in laboratory. Results were then tested using the t-test in Microsoft Excel. While for the awareness, questionnaires using likert scale that have undergone validity and reliability test were distributed online using Google Form to 100 housewives. Data were analyzed using Multiple Linear Regression and Classical Assumptions. Results show that treatment 4 for composting process has the most preferred ratio. The mixture of 4 kg waste and 4 kg cow manure fertilizer produced: C-organic 41.47%, N-total 2.51%, C/N ratio 16.50, P-total 3.12% and K-total 2.3%. While for the awareness, results showed that behavior and knowledge have positive significant influence toward awareness while income has no significance towards awareness on the respondents. |
