ONLINE LAUNDRY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM USING BARCODE FOR COMMERCIAL LAUNDRY SERVICE IN JAKARTA

Abstract

Commercial laundry service was born in the 90s and has never been more on-demand than now. In 2014, there were found 407 commercial laundry services in the Greater Jakarta area only. And for the last 10 years, this number keeps increasing along with its demands. The high productivity and population density in Jakarta, along with clothes as their primary need means that the laundry demands will never cease. Besides, there are still many underqualified conventional laundry services in Jakarta. In addition, through all current rapid technology development in Indonesia, compared to other business sectors like food delivery, transportation, financial, etc., the commercial laundry business process is the last amongst them that was going to be automated for enhancing efficiency. These facts point out that the business process of commercial laundry certainly needs to be improved. This paper will explain how the proposed online laundry management system can help to enhance the conventional laundry so they can achieve better quality services, increase productivity, and customer satisfaction, through the implementation of barcode identification technology.
