dc.description.abstract Apotek or pharmacy is a place for selling and sometimes making or concocting drugs. Pharmacy is also a place for pharmacists to practice the pharmacy profession as well as being a retailer. This word comes from the Greek word apotheca which literally means "storage". Many pharmacies still run their activities as retail manually. Customers still have to come to the pharmacy to buy medicine or redeem prescription, and pharmacists record it on a book or a paper. At the same time, the utilization of smartphones and QR Code already applied by many people in many places for entertainment or business purposes. Since smartphones become a trending technology, user and customer preference are changing too, for example like how smartphones changing people's way to communicate from face to face into using social media. QR code created in 1994 by Toyota subsidiary 'Denso Wave' to quickly track vehicles and parts through the company's automotive manufacturing process. This research has a purpose to automate some processes in a pharmacy. Using and android based application to generate a QR code for medicine, do transactions between customers and pharmacists, track medicine stock movement by scanning QR Code will reduce time-waste, motion-waste and minimize probabilities of errors not only for customers but for user that included in pharmacy. en_US
