ANDROID-BASED STUDENT ATTENDANCE SYSTEM USING QR CODE FOR PRESIDENT UNIVERSITY

Abstract

In President University, attendance is one of important thing to do for students. Lecturer can see their academic performance by tracking their attendance record. However, sometimes it becomes a problem for the student to taking the attendance because the system that used by President University is still the traditional way of taking attendance. They use an ineffective paper-based attendance system makes all attendance recording or monitoring process very tiring. Even though the student have taken attendance on paper, lecturer still has to input all the attendance data into the system manually. This study is talking about an idea of making an application that supposedly became a solution of those problems. It is an attendance system application for President University that using QR code. In consideration of almost all people, especially students have a smartphone, this android-based application will help to automate the attendance process so it can be more efficient and effective. Therefore, this application have several function such as generate QR code, scan QR code, edit attendance, request make-up class, show the attendance result, show attendance report, and show the lecturer today’s schedule.
