ACTORS FACE RECOGNITION APPLICATION BASED ON ANDROID STUDIO

Abstract

The uniqueness or individuality of an individual is his face. In this thesis, the face of an individual I’m using is an actor’s face, as sometimes people have a hard time knowing who the actor is when they are watching a movie or celebrity shows. The conventional method for knowing who the actor is and their profile is by searching the movie on the search engine such as Google. Google will then show a list of the cast of the movie. Time consumption for this purpose is the concern. Nowadays people want something that is quick and simple, this application serves it. To support that, an automatic process is used in this application which is based on image processing. In this application, face detection and face recognition are used. Face detection is used to locate the position of the face area and face recognition is used to recognize the actor and display the actor’s profile. The database of all the actors is stored and when the face of the actor matches one of the faces showed in the database then it will show the actor’s profile.
