ANDROID APPLICATION FOR SOUTH KOREAN TOUR & TRAVEL USING WEB CRAWLER

Abstract

The popular culture of South Korea called Hallyu or Korean Wave is Korean pop culture such as Korean Drama, Korean Music, and Korean Food. Because of the popularity of Korean Wave, it grows people’s enthusiasm to visit Korea in order to visit places that were made as to the filming location of a drama or Korean movies. Along the way, there are many tour travel agent that provides travel packages with various prices and most of the people who want to go to Korea will find and compare which tour agents that have a more reasonable price. In the other hand people find it hard to find a trusted travel agent and also have difficulties in comparing which the best packages that could fulfil their preferences. To solve the problem above, this thesis aims to give the solution by providing an android application that allows the user to get the best experience and result of finding a tour package by collecting various tour packages from multiple travel agents using Web Crawler and allows the user to compare which package that fits with user preferences. A web crawler is a program to crawl data across the websites that exist on the internet to index pages for search engines. The program works by crawling and indexing each of the elements before delivering the right pages for keywords that have been inputted by the user. The crawler will store the pages index so other algorithms can sort them for their contained words to later fetch and rank for users. As a result, the user will be able to find various packages from multiple tour agents and be able to compare different packages.
