dc.description.abstract In the current technological development, efficiency and improvement is very much needed, there is also an increase in the practicality of using an object while still maintaining security. During an internship at PT Mercedes-Benz Indonesia, located in Wanaherang, Gunung putri, was assigned to conduct an improved windshield manipulator. The purpose of the research is to make the windshield manipulator easier to use, while the existing manipulator has a weight that is heavy enough to be used. This study presents an analysis of the existing windshield manipulator and the new design manipulator, the existing manipulator analysis is not safe, but by breaking down the weight of the existing manipulator, the new design manipulator analysis is declared safe. Design improvement uses engineering design methods, von mises criteria, factor of safety and fatigue seeking from new windshield manipulators. To find out how long the new design of windshield manipulator can be used, fatigue life calculations are used using Goodman's theory. en_US
