Tower lamp is one of PT United Tractor Pandu Engineering product which has many model variants based on customer demand. The objectives of this research is to identify customer needs and designing modular concept of tower lamp product. Voice of Customer (VOC) was gathered by using questionnaire in order to get detail information about customer needs. Quality Function Deployment (QFD) used as method to defining customer needs and translating them into technical specification of tower lamp product. House of Quality (HOQ) was created as analysis tool, it provides many information such as importance of customer needs, technical attributes and relation between customer attributes with technical attributes. Result of HOQ will be consideration to design modular concept of tower lamp product. There are 7 sub assembly that can be interchange or flexible to any customization corresponding with customer needs such as fuel tank, lamp, engine, ballast, battery, alternator and undercarriage of tower lamp product. Static sub assembly also being analyze according to the advantage and disadvantages of each sub assembly which are, cabin, cabin access, grille, hydraulic power pack, hydraulic control, tower, axle and outrigger. In concept selection, the forth concept was selected and the next phase is evaluating the overall concept of tower lamp. At the end, modular criteria and concept were combined and evaluated in order to find the best design of modular tower lamp that fulfill customers need. |
