Preserving food is one of the most valuable uses of refrigeration cycles. Food cooling is aimed to inhibit the growth of bacteria that cause decay in foodstuffs, so that food can last longer. Cooling is done in a cooling machine (refrigerator or freezer) and also called refrigeration process. The suitable refrigeration system is a vapor compression refrigeration system.
The purpose of this study was to make a vapor compression refrigeration system from a used water dispenser to be used as refrigeration exercise apparatus. This tool is expected to help students to understand the refrigeration system with easy and fun. The used water dispenser is modified and added a measurement system that can provide data analysis such as suction pressure, discharge pressure, condenser inlet temperature, condenser output temperature, evaporator input temperature, evaporator output temperature. This used as parameter to find value entalphy on the P-h diagram and then used to calculate the value of coefficient of performance (COP). The results show that refrigeration tools are able to work and produce the required data at maximum cabin temperature . But for good efisiensi of the refrigerator the maximum cabin temperature is 5 with the efisiensi is 74.53%. Lower of the cabin temperature, lower the efficiency of refrigeration system. |
