DEVELOPING ESTIMATION MODEL OF PRODUCT COST BY USING COST DRIVER IN AGGREGATE LEVEL IN VARIOUS MOLD MAKER INDUSTRY

Abstract

Mold maker industry is one of the examples of make-to-order industry. Therefore, quotation is an important thing as the response to the customer when there is an order. Quotation should be done in as soon as possible and as accurate as possible. Thus, this research focuses on developing the estimation model so that it can be used in various mold maker industry for long term. Another development is determining the complex product that cannot be estimated accurately by the software to prevent the user gives bad estimation to the customer. To be able to be used in different company for long term, the configuration is made so that the company may change the software setting based on the certain situations. For determining complex products, the criteria are determined. The software should check all product inputs with the criteria and give notes for the product which exceed the limit of the criteria. After developing the software, it is validated and verified. The validation is done by comparing the manual calculation with the software calculation result. The verification is done by comparing the manual calculation with software calculation with different setting. Lastly, the software is used to estimate some engineering drawings and compared with the actual time for case study.
