dc.description.abstract Musical metronome is one of an important device for a musician to practice tempo sense. Metronome will give a steady pulse within a tempo, which usually in beats per minute as its unit. Nowadays, metronome exist not only in a form of device but also in a form software with multiple possible platform. Considered that metronome application is a lightweight in size and should be practical, this thesis will choose Android as a platform to build a metronome application This Android application will be covering metronome features, such as, showing tempo mark, adjusting the number of beats per bar, visualizing beats ticking in a form of light indicators, tempo tapper, and tempo detection. The tempo detection feature is a spotlight feature, which enable automation for finding a song tempo. The algorithm of this feature is build based on beat detection algorithm. In short, the application is a musical Android metronome that will covers a tempo detection feature as its additional value. The tempo detection algorithm has a satisfying accuracy with 4.172% in terms of experimental error. en_US
