ASSESSMENT OF ACCELERATION DIGITALIZATION OF INDUSTRIAL REVOLUTION 4.0 IN PULP & PAPER COMPANIES AT KARAWANG

Abstract

The Industrial Revolution 4.0 is a transformation effort to achieve improvement by integrating the online world and production lines into the industry, where all production processes are mainly supported by the Internet. Therefore, this study will examine the assessment of the acceleration of digitalization presented by company employees. There are eight elements of assessment to determine the maturity of digitization, namely Technology, Products, Customers & Partners, Value Creation Process, Data & Information, Company Standards, Employees and Strategy & Leadership. The assessment level is divided into three levels, namely 1.00 - 2.99 for 'development assessment', 3.00 - 3.99 for 'approach assessment' and 4.00 - 5.00 for 'assessment'. Then Descriptive Statistics displays the respondents' answers and results. Furthermore, a more in-depth analysis is carried out through the Cross Tab Analysis. The results showed that most of the employees were at the 'assessment' level for all elements, as evidenced by the technology average of 4.34, Products 4.39, Customers & Partners 4.48, Value Creation Process 4.47, Data & Information 4.42, the Company Standard is 4.45, Employees 4.39 and Strategy & Leadership 4.43. The crosstab method is very important to find out whether there is a relationship between the elements and the conditions that exist in the company and the results of the crosstab can be a reference to see which elements are related to the company's factors. This research can also be strengthened by findings in the field, that company has implemented the SAP 730 application in their production activities.
