Abstract:
The issue of Claim and counter Claim in South China Sea have been one of the reason for disputes in South China Sea from time to time. In the recent years the escalation of the disputes has reach a new peak with the government of China's willingness to use force to support their claim which been followed by other claimant state to also use force in their bid to claim parts of South China Sea for themselves. The Arrival of the United States with its rebalance policy further muddled the situation in South China Sea. Indonesia though was not part of the Claimant state was part of the disputes in South China Sea for the fact that China have claim a part of Indonesian Territory. Thus for that Fact Indonesia have prepared themselves with the possibility of a Spill-over from the disputes in South China Sea trough military development and the fulfillment of the Minimum Essential Forces. Indonesian government through its defense policy have implement some measures and strategy to prepare themselves for any possibilities that might happens in South China Sea.
