THE IMPACT OF GDP GROWTH, INFLATION, TAXRATE, BANK SIZE AND NON-PERFORMINGLOANRATIO ON PROFITABILITY OF COMMERCIALBANKS IN CHINA

Abstract

Commercial banks play a very important role in the economic development of a country. A perfect banking system plays a vital role in the stable development of the national economy and the optimal allocation of resources. In this paper, thequantitative analysis is used to study the factors influencing the profitabilityof Chinese commercial banks, and the connotation of the profitability of commercial banks is defined, and the business of our country is analyzed and summarized. The development and present situation of bank profitability and the measurement of commercial bank profitability and its influencing factors are explained indepth. Secondly, the latest data of seven commercial banks from 2013 to 2017areselected as samples, and the influencing factors of profitability of Chinesecommercial banks are studied empirically by using a multiple linear regressionmodel. The results show that the size of commercial banks, the liquidity of assets, capital adequacy ratio and macroeconomic environment will have a significant impact on the profitability of commercial banks in China. On this basis, thispaper puts forward countermeasures and suggestions to improve the profitabilityof commercial banks in China.
