Abstract:
The U.S. Space Strategy, consisting of the National Space Policy (NSP) and the National Security Space Strategy (NSSS), is subject to and serves the larger U.S. National Security Strategy. President Barack Obama's administration issued a National Space Policy (NSP) in 2010, later issuing the first ever National Space Security Strategy (NSSS) in 2011. With the NSP and the NSSS, the Obama administration redirected the United States toward a more cooperative. Under the Obama administration, space technology and space projects also concern of serve both military and civilian purposes, the national space policy of the United States and space military strategy are highly intertwined to achieve U.S National Interest in Space. This thesis will explain how Obama’s space strategy as part of its foreign policy to achieve U.S National Interest in Space. Also, U.S National Interest in Space during Obama era is classified into World Order Interest and also Security Interest.
