dc.description.abstract In the middle age of world history, from 8th to 13th CE, Muslim civilization marked an era of religious, scientific, philosophical and cultural development that has never seen before. This development era marked as the golden age of Islam. In this era, Muslim civilization under Abbasid Dynasty leadership, has significantly contributed to today‟s modern science and has become the bridge for Europe shifted to its renaissance. There were many factors have influenced this enormous development of science, one of it was the implementation of science diplomacy by the ruling caliphate. Therefore, this thesis is going to analyze and identify the implementation of science diplomacy in the development of science between Abbasid Dynasty and other empires by employing qualitative methodology in collecting data and answering the research question. This thesis will also use historical approach, theory of international cooperation and the theory of diplomacy especially science diplomacy in analyzing the data of research. The researcher hopes this study could give a comprehensive explanation on the development of science that led to the golden age of Islam and contribute to new literacy in understanding the history of Islamic civilization. In conclusion, this study finds that there were the implementations of science diplomacy in the golden age of Islam between Abbasid Dynasty from Islamic world and its external parties in the effort of science development. en_US
