Abstract:
Indonesia-China bilateral relations have improved in recent years significantly. This could be seen from the implementation of Panda Diplomacy through the Giant Panda conservation in 2017 which demonstrates that China regards Indonesia as a friendly country with and a strategic partner in south East Asia. China uses Panda as a tool to demonstrate that it is friendly and create an image that they are not a threat to other countries. Bringing up the “To what extent does the implementation of “panda diplomacy” in animal conservation in Indonesia?” research question, the author attempt to analyze the implementation of it and the result and outcome of the conservation. In this paper, using the soft power theory the author will look at how China Panda Diplomacy can be used to strengthen bilateral relations between China and Indonesia.
