| dc.description.abstract | The United States has been running hip-hop diplomacy since 2006. Hip-hop diplomacy is designed to share the values of freedom and enhance the image of the US State with other cultural diplomacy. A lot of rappers from the USA, including Eminem, took part in the conduct of hip-hop diplomacy. This paper investigates the actions of US cultural diplomacy in Indonesia by means of hip-hop and answers the question “How does hip- hop culture diplomacy in Indonesia?” The research showed that efforts made by the USA government to carry out diplomacy with hip-hop increase the image and public interest of the USA in the eyes of the Indonesian people. Besides the growing image of the United States, hip-hop culture can be adapted to local culture. | en_US |
