Abstract:
The aim of this research is to analyze the great influence of the 21st-Century Maritime Silk Road on Mainland China, South China Sea regions, ASEAN and Indonesia from 2013 to 2016. This research will introduce and analyze the development process and the characteristics of China's economic foreign policy, as well as the background, contents and achievements of the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road in order to determine its significant impact. In addition, according to the free trade theory and regional economic cooperation theory, this thesis will analyze the influences of the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road on the economic relationship between China and the ASEAN countries. The result of this research shows that the 21st century Maritime Silk Road is the strategic concept in the development stage; however, its influence has been beyond this stage, for it has been beyond a country or a region. The most essential influence is that the strategy of 21st Century Maritime Silk Road is intended to create a large channel to connect Asia, Africa and Europe together.
