Abstract:
Everyone has the right to education. Education is a global problem because it is not only a moral right but also a legal right and can affect the economic development of a country. So that education becomes one of the global plans of all countries that have signed the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). However, in developing countries like Indonesia, there are still many people who do not care about the importance of education. This is evidenced by the unequal education and lack of public awareness of education. By conducting a teaching project in English and basic knowledge of citizenship to early childhood in one of the informal institutions, the Griya Asih Orphanage, in addition to achieving one of the SDGs goals, increase their awareness of the importance of international languages and shape their character. Through contextual learning methods that are related to everyday life, it will be easier for children to understand and apply the lessons that have been given. This teaching activity is in line with the human rights that everyone is entitled to, namely the right to education and one of the goals in the SDGs. Unlike the previous teaching activities, the head of the foundation said that this project lasted a long time, left a very good impression, and was very helpful in changing the character of the children there. We hope that this project can increase public awareness so that it can realize SDGs no. 4, namely quality education.
