dc.description.abstract The United Nations Secretary-General, António Guterres, devotes a sizable portion of his activity on the social media platform Twitter (@antonioguterres) to climate change. Throughout the years of 2017 to 2022, Guterres sent out 4,168 tweets. Approximately 18% of these tweets explicitly included the word “climate”. This percentage excludes tweets that can be related to climate change but do not include the word “climate”. The authors’ examination shows that in his climate-related tweets, Guterres has never discredited or undermined the Paris Agreement. In fact, Guterres’ tweets are always supportive of the Paris Agreement, and can be connected to endeavors that promote the fulfilment of the Paris Agreement. The climate tweets posted by Guterres serve as reminders, motivations, and critiques for the Parties to the Paris Agreement and relevant stakeholders in implementing the Paris Agreement. en_US
