Abstract:
Accidents at work have become the most common issues for companies. In
Indonesia, the number of incidents of workplace accidents has climbed by more than
100% during the last 20 years. Most workplace accidents in Indonesia occur in the
construction industry. The purpose of this study is to identify the influence of safety
management practices, worker safety attitudes, and work fatigue toward work
accidents in construction industry. To achieve the purpose, the researcher surveyed
215 construction workers in Jakarta through online survey. This research
demonstrated that safety management has a negative and statistically significant
effect on workplace accidents. There was a negative and statistically significant
correlation between a worker's safety attitude and workplace accidents. Meanwhile,
the influence of workers fatigue on work accidents showed a positive and significant
result. This study's findings suggest that a reduction in workplace accidents might
be achieved by the coordinated use of safety management practice, worker safety
attitude, and work fatigue. However, further study is needed across industries to
fully understand the impact of these factors on the prevalence of workplace
accidents.
