Abstract:
Purpose – Online Food Delivery (OFD) app is an application to buy food online through a
smartphone than makes us not have to go out and become more efficient. Therefore, this study
is to identify the factors influence in intention to use OFD app, especially for Gen-Z.
Methodology – This study uses a quantitative method. An online questionnaire was distributed
to 333 people, and only 328 responded who were Gen-Z and using OFD app. This study uses
purposive sampling. The data analyzed is using multiple linear regression.
Findings – This research find that price saving and time-saving is having significant impact in
intention to use OFD app but prior online purchase and convenience motivation is don’t have
significant impact in intention to use OFD app.
Practical Implication – The result on this research is price saving and time-saving are most
important factors for Gen-Z in intention to use OFD app. Therefore, to develop an effective
strategy, every OFD app company must prioritize the components related to these factors.
Originality Value – Despite the increasing number of users of OFD app from various
generations, studies on the intention to use OFD app that focus on Gen-Z are still limited. This
study focuses on Gen-Z because they use technology such as smartphones more often than
other generations.
