Abstract:
This paper examined how Japan and the United Kingdom implement their cyber security
cooperation from 2012 to 2017. It can be seen that both countries have worked side by side
for more than 150 years in order to further their shared objectives and interests. Over time as
the world has become more interconnected than ever, Japan and the UK see this as an
opportunity to broaden their areas of cooperation in order to deal with a current, never-ending
challenge known as cyber threats. Using data gathered from secondary sources such as
official government reports, books, and journal articles, this study demonstrates that Japan
and the United Kingdom have established their cooperation in cyber security to safeguard
cyberspace and improve their capability to respond to potential cyber threats in the future. It
maintains that both countries have made a commitment to learning from one another in terms
of capacity-building and human resource development in order to advance their cyber
security. Further research is needed to assess potential challenges and diverse case studies on
cyber security cooperation in order to better comprehend the contemporary interconnected
world under the concept of international cooperation in the area of cyber security.
