This research aims to elaborate how the United States strives for the space security through some sets of policy and strategy under Obama administration during 2006-2012. Since the rapid growth of science and technology, space is one of the international issues that touch the concern of states over the globe and they actively engage in this field. The United States is one of the most notable states that vigorously attempts to take part in the space activity and exploration. The issues of space militarization and space weaponization are inevitable and also debatable. Hence these issues also attract the United States to be aware of the possibility of threats and challenges in its national security.
The implementation of space programs the United States has undergone under Obama administration marks the significance of American leadership in space. Moreover, NASA and Department of Defense as agencies that support the United States to pursue its agenda of national interests in space become very vital to the United States. The space programs also display that the US has the commitment to further accelerate its steps to be the ambitious and powerful state to ever acquire capabilities in space through sets of policy and implementation. |
