Abstract:
This research explores the profound impact of Generation Z employees, defined as
those born between 1997 and 2012. The research sees a rise in work productivity in
Indonesia and a corresponding rise in stress levels; given Gen Z's need for work
flexibility and work-life balance, this research will prove the impact on work
productivity and highlight the important role of motivation as a mediator. From 144
respondents, 128 employees who met the respondent requirements as active
employees of Gen Z age and working in Jakarta, collected through an online survey,
were analyzed using PLS-SEM (Partial Least Square Structural Equation
Modeling) with SmartPLS 3.2.9. The findings show that work-life balance
significantly affects work productivity and motivation, while work flexibility is
only significant and does not affect motivation. Although motivation does not
reduce the impact of work flexibility, work-life balance moderates productivity.
This study emphasizes the importance of motivation as a mediator of work-life
balance and work flexibility in improving Gen Z work productivity.
