dc.description.abstract This research attempts to describe the role of MONUSCO in halting and preventing the existence of children associated with armed forces in the DRC. The research is significant to explore the programs that have been done by MONUSCO in cooperating with other international organizations and observe the influence of MONUSCO in children associated with armed forces issue in the DRC. Resolution 1925 has given a specific mandate for MONUSCO to work closely with Congolese Government in addressing the grave violations against children by finalizing the Action Plan to release children who are associated in FARDC units and prevent further recruitment and use of children as soldiers. The finalization and the implementation of the Action Plan which has four pillars; separation, response, prevention, and impunity will be the main focus in this research to describe the role of MONUSCO. The writer put the time frame of 2010-2013 because the significant activities by MONUSCO to accomplish its mandate happened during the period. en_US
