Abstract:
Language teaching is a dynamic and evolving field that plays a crucial role in communication,
cultural exchange, and personal development. However, several regions, especially in
developing countries such as Indonesia, need more access to teaching languages, especially
English, where many Children need help accessing English education adequately. Children in
remote areas often exhibit rich linguistic diversity, with communities speaking local languages.
However, mainstream educational approaches predominantly focus on widely spoken
languages, leading to the marginalization of local languages. This marginalization contributes
to a disconnect between the curriculum and the linguistic context of the learners, hindering
effective communication and understanding in the educational setting. By conducting the
"Learn Beyond Limits" project, we aim to overcome the educational gap by providing a
comprehensive English teaching program for students in remote areas and implementing
specific methods to increase the students' willingness to learn English in Dusun Cilele, West
Teluk Jambe District, West Karawang Regency. In line with Sustainable Development Goal
(SDG) number 4, which supports inclusive and quality education for all, this project explores
innovative strategies to enhance language teaching in such contexts by conducting an English
teaching program that is expected to become the beginning of a sustainable contribution to the
improvement of English language skills and interests of the students at Dusun Cilele.
